Press Release
Meteorological Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network Established
Office of the Spokesperson

The Meteorological Office of the Velocity Interoperability Network has been formally established. The Office is responsible for forecasting the weather of the Network, for issuing warnings of hazardous weather to member organisations and citizens, for operating the Network's observing stations and weather radars, and for keeping the climate records of the Network.
With its establishment complete, the Office today launches its official website at meteorology.gov.vin. The site carries the schedule of forecasts, the warning levels and the hazards warned for, the register of observing stations, the observing programme and the Office's climate records, together with press releases and official statements.
The first regular forecasts, the opening of the warning service and the confirmation of the observing network are the subject of separate announcements published today. The Office's forecasting centre is at Central Exchange and is staffed continuously. General enquiries may be sent to contact@meteorology.gov.vin.
